I am finally getting back to painting this week. The big part of the gardening is done for this season, so now it will just be maintenance. That makes it very enjoyable! We have had a few days of rain finally, so everything is getting a good start in this late spring.
I have decided that I am going to a series of paintings from Vancouver, for my solo show in September at the Circle Centre galleries. The one above is the second Cedar Wave that I wanted to do. This is the underpainting, that is now ready to get working on the final details. I really like the abstract in the real in this subject. It will be fun to work on.
I have about three months to get ready, so will be busy the next while. I am going to do a few oil paintings first, and then probably a couple of watercolours. I hope to use the japanese glass fish floats in one. Lots of possibilities. In fact, just had an idea – a black background under them. Will have to try it out tomorrow. Hmmm. Maybe right now.
Off to try a few things….
