This has been an eventful and busy week for sure. Last Sunday we had people over to lunch, which was pleasant. It took up pretty much the whole day though. Monday was the usual, Field House in the morning, and I got started on a new painting. Tuesday was coolish, and I was painting again. Then, that afternoon, the bulldozer arrived and started the process of taking the house next door down. You can see pictures on the flickr connection to the right —>. That took two days. Also, we had been asked by the local Horticultural Society if we would volunteer our garden for this year’s passport tour, so we said yes. Of course it rained lots during the week, and while the house was being pulled down I didn’t want to stay out much because of the dust and fibreglass that was flying around. So late Thursday afternoon we finally got the lawn mowed and I started weeding the endless elm tree seeds and tidying up the garden. The tour was Saturday afternoon, from 1 – 4, and we had 123 people come through in that time. It was quite a bit of fun, and got to talk to lots of folks. Went out to dinner, came home and then started making quiche for lunch the next day. Today we had another group, this time one of George’s grad students and her family. It was pleasant. Now I’m tired. And somehow I got most of the painting done. Just some minor bits to do tomorrow. So now for a quieter ( I sure hope) week, and getting some more painting done. Oh yes, and AK resigned from her job so that she can expand her horizons. An eventful week indeed!
