Tea and oranges start

Tea and oranges almost done
I wasn’t going to do any more oil paintings for the upcoming show, but I really wanted to do this, so decided to use Alan Wylie’s technique that I had learned last year at a workshop (there is a post here somewhere – need to figure out how to link internally). It is small, 8 x 10 inches, of a teapot I bought at Granville Island on one of my trips out to Vancouver. This makes me think of Leonard Cohen’s song ‘Suzanne’ – she’ll feed you tea and oranges that come all the way from China.
It is always useful to put up a photo of something I am working on – I see lots of little things that need a touch up here and there. I hope to finish tonight or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow as I am somewhat tired as the dog – must be getting spring fever or something – woke me up at 1 am, after which I couldn’t get to sleep for a couple of hours, then woke me up again at 7 am, after which I dozed which always makes me feel cotton headed. It is finally getting melted enough so I will take him for a walk after supper tonight and see if that helps. Sheesh – like having an infant in the house again. Maybe he is just getting old (he’ll be 11 this June) and needs to get up more often like the rest of us.
Well, have been painting several hours today. Time for a break, cup of tea, make supper, then see if I might finish it today.
